Silverlake Jubilee was on a tighter schedule for day 2 versus day 1. The first band of the afternoon for me was Lilofee. They started their set with an awesome wall of sound.

Comment: "We’re so excited to play here. We’re half way from Los Angeles and half way from San Francisco."

Soon after, my friends began to arrive and we all hung out in the lobby until everyone showed up. We then pushed our way through the audience, ending up stage center. I think we pissed off about 50 people as we made our way through the crowd. We waited in the crowd during the sound check, speculating on rather or not Metric would start at either 9:45 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.

They started their set at 9:45 p.m. I have to admit that I had to compare and contrast the Metric show with the Pixies, my last adventure at The Palladium. One thing about Metric, they didn’t tease the audience like the Pixies did.

My observation of Year Long Disaster (pictured right and lower left): I think they must be anti-vampires. At one point, the lights came down and the lead singer said, “It is so dark and no one can see how handsome our bass player is.” This was said with a sense of humor, but he was serious because he gave a look to the back that indicated that he’d prefer to have the lights on. And when the lights went on, he said “Thank you.” Hmm, a fear of the dark?!?

The Upfront. Yes, I’m playing off of (500) Days of Summer, but we here at TRAffIK really liked that movie.

What’s going on here. Now TRAffIK did technically kill off summer with the following blog, but hey, I had a nice summer and wish to do my own summer exit. This blog is going to take a trip from Highland Park to the Sunset Strip and various other locations between these two music spots.
